Three Thoughts from Me

  • I’m dizzy with the political changes occurring right now. Every hour brings a new announcement, a different direction, a tsunami of turmoil. It’s why D&C 20:12 stood out to me this week, “Thereby showing that he is the same God yesterday, today, and forever. Amen.” What a great reminder that who and what is most important is not changing, will not change.

  • Focusing on what is not changing in our lives is a healthy coping strategy in times like these. Partaking of the sacrament, the power of prayer, my morning routine of studying the scriptures and journaling inspiration, will forever give me peace. Likewise, my enjoyment of Cadbury Easter Eggs, reading detective mysteries, and playing games with my family is unchangeable!

  • We can also count on a prophet’s voice to guide us in these latter days. President Russell M. Nelson has prepared us for this time. When he said “buckle up” this may be the turbulence he knew was coming. What a great time to review and follow up on his counsel for us (all his prophetic messages are in the Gospel Library app, under Study Plans). How blessed we are to have his testimony, teachings, and consistent divine revelations that give us assurance and guidance on how to survive these troubled days.

Two Quotes from Others

  • “Constancy amid change is assured by heavenly personages, plans, and principles. Our trust can be safely anchored to them. They provide peace, eternal progression, hope, freedom, love, and joy to all who will be guided by them. They are true—now and forever—I testify in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen” (Russell M. Nelson).

  • “[God] changes not, neither is there variableness with him; but that he is the same from everlasting to everlasting, being the same yesterday, today, and for ever; and that his course is one eternal round, without variation” (Lectures on Faith, 41).

One Question for You

  • How is the blessing of knowing God is the same yesterday, today, and forever helping you find peace in this whirlwind of change?
