How Can We Be Made Whole? – Matthew 14; Mark 6; John 5–6

Come, Follow Me: New Testament 2023 (Mar. 27–April 2)

A biblical scene - of Jesus Christ walking in the water with a blurred background

The news of the miracle spread like wildfire. “Did you hear about the woman in Gadarene who was healed when she touched the hem of His robe? What could happen if He came to our town?” When word came that Jesus was arriving by boat in the land of Gennesaret, the people were on the shore, anxiously waiting to see Him. And when they saw Him, they knew Him (Mark 6:54). Then they ran through the whole region and carried the sick in their beds to wherever he was. Laying the sick on the streets, they besought Him that they could touch the border of His garment; “…and as many as touched him were made whole (Mark 6:56).”

Seek Him.
See Him.
Know Him.
Run to gather friends.
Besought Him. Implore Him.
Touch Him. (Even just a little.)
Be made whole.

Such glorious actions of faith, modeling a pattern that when repeated, can make us whole. What is it to be made whole?

“Men and women who turn their lives over to God will discover that He can make a lot more out of their lives than they can. He will deepen their joys, expand their vision, quicken their minds…lift their spirits, multiply their blessings, increase their opportunities, comfort their souls, raise up friends, and pour out peace.” (President Ezra Taft Benson)

Practice this pattern of becoming whole as you engage in General Conference this weekend. Reach out and touch the hem of His garment to feel rested, renewed, and recommitted to Come, Follow Him.

Emotional Resilience Skill: Increasing emotional resilience requires intention, knowledge, and repeated action.
