Come to the Table — Acts 10–15
Come, Follow Me: New Testament 2023 (July 17–23)
The story of Cornelius and Peter meeting was one of the most significant events in Christian history. The prayers of Cornelius were answered, and Peter’s dream was interpreted. Cornelius realized, “Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God” (Actions 10:33). And with clarity Peter understood the message, “Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons” (Acts 10:34), “…he is the Lord of all… “(Acts 10:36).
This triggered the single most important revelation on the spread of Christianity:
Everyone is invited to come to the table of Jesus Christ.

The Come, Follow Me manual gives us an experiment to try. In the next few days, whenever you interact with someone, try to think to yourself, “This person is a child of God.” To make it even more significant, look for those you typically would overlook or dismiss because of quick judgements or assumptions about someone who is different from you.
Notice what you feel as you remember, God wants everyone at His table.
“Come to the table
Come meet this mightly crew of misfits
These liars and these thieves
There's no one unwelcome here
That sin and shame that you brought with you
You can leave it at the door
And let mercy draw you near
So, come to the table
Come join the sinners who have been redeemed
Take your place beside the Savior
Sit down and be set free
Come to the table
Come to the table…”
