Collect Your Divine Revelations — “The Promised Restoration Goes Forward”

I love to collect antiques. My collections include Majolica (a type of pottery), bird cages (yes, you heard that right), and iron door stops. But my greatest collection are my journals that contain records of my spiritual experiences. Amidst my musings of woe and wonderful, are letters that came from Jesus, usually in times of hard. It makes sense that a writer would receive revelation as she is writing, and that’s what happens to me. They often begin with “Dear Terri” but always end with “Your brother, Jesus.”
As God touched the stones so the people of Ether could carry light throughout their tumultuous sea journey, these written spiritual experiences are touchstones of light for me. They are sacred and priceless. I reread them often because they are unquestionable proof I am loved, and He is in the details of my life.
The Doctrine and Covenants is a collection of divine revelations given to specific members of the church when they had questions or when they were in hard places. “The sacred revelations were received in answer to prayer, in times of need, and came out of real-life situations involving real people” (Introduction to Doctrine and Covenants). We can truly be taught, inspired and encouraged by the sacred and priceless words received from heaven to these latter-day Saints who came before us.

“The Restoration of His gospel started when one person turned to God and heard Him. It continues that same way: one heart, one sacred experience at a time—including yours” (Come, Follow Me manual).
“With reverence and gratitude, we as His Apostles invite all to know–as we do–that the heavens are open…We testify that those who prayerfully study the message of the Restoration and act in faith will be blessed to gain their own witness of its divinity and of its purpose to prepare the world for the promised Second Coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ’ (The Restoration of the Fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ Proclamation).
